One of Those Things

I received some disappointing news this week. The non-profit organization that I work for is having funding issues and my position has been cut.

Now that you know the end of the story, let me back up on how I even got to this position – and why I’m doing ok.

In June, I was working with another company. I was quite happy and content in my job. However, I had been feeling that nudge that something was about to change. My then-boss informed me that she had a friend who was looking to fill a newly created position with their company. It would be a position that would better utilize my degree and provide more opportunities.

Why the World Needs Tim Tebow

Sports channels, blogs, Facebook and Twitter have blown up over the Denver Broncos new starting quarterback, Tim Tebow. For those of you like me, who are not glued to a TV during football season, Tim Tebow is very forthcoming in his faith, which is stirring up a lot of controversy.

I read an interesting article that compared people’s reactions to Tebow to how people reacted to Jesus. They felt insulted. They were upset. They wanted him to tone it down. I’m with the author of that article. Continue Reading…

December Challenge

Keeping up with my November challenge, I am currently reading a fabulous book by Candace Cameron Bure (known from her role as DJ from Full House) called Reshaping It All: Motivation for Physical and Spiritual Fitness. This book has been a great lead into my December challenge.

I feel bad for exercise. It really gets a terrible rap by people who don’t give it a chance. I know I’m not as busy as most people, but at the same time, it doesn’t take that much time to fit in a 30 minute jog. In addition, if you take things easy and gradually work yourself into the new workout routine, the pain is minimal. If there is pain, it’s probably nothing some Aleve or a nice glass of wine can’t fix.
